But, there wasn’t a single character I liked. I always feel anxious while reading her thrillers. Once again, the author does an amazing job at keeping readers on their toes. I feel it gives a terrible stigma on mental health. However, I did not appreciate how schizophrenia was used as a plot point for violence. I suspected one of the twists involving them.

And yet, we have to hear her “woe is me” story about how her husband and kids left her. She literally is responsible for the deaths of multiple people. There is a lack of compassion in society when it comes to those who are homeless. It gave a face to those many often ignore. I did appreciate the discussion on homelessness. Now for my thoughts… SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS!!!! But then again, Juno has secrets of her own. However, she realizes that this family is hiding some major secrets. Winnie is one of those perfect, always put-together moms, Nigel is handsome and has a good temperament, and they have a beautiful son named Sam.

Juno has moved in with them and she can’t help but witness the cracks that appear. The book is about this seemingly perfect Crouch family. I have no clue what to say about this book.
